An LED is a light-emitting diode, a semiconductor electronic device that allows electric current to flow in one direction.
White light is created by two methods:
1. The correct mixture of red, blue and green light creates RGB light.
2. By using RGB methods – a combination of the three colors creates white light with high luminous efficiency that can be adjusted in terms of hue.
A series of LED lights is determined by the color rendering index (CRI).
The luminous efficiency of LED lighting fixtures is expected to be significantly higher at approximately 150 lumens per watt, almost twice that of a fluorescent lighting fixture.
Although it is a relatively new technology, LED lighting is gradually establishing its position in most lighting applications in all fields; outdoor and indoor lighting, street lighting, equipment, etc.
The most notable advantages of LED lighting are:
- High luminous efficiency compared to incandescent and halogen bulbs and sometimes compared to fluorescent bulbs.
- The color of the light is uniform, the bulb life is longer than that of conventional bulbs.
- The LED bulb is mercury-free and considered environmentally friendly.
- The LED bulb is significantly more energy efficient, sometimes almost 10 times more efficient than an incandescent bulb!
We can conclude that it is better to use one powerful light bulb for a particular room than two or three less powerful ones.
We must qualify this because some light bulb manufacturers have not gained experience, and therefore some of the bulbs do not meet standards and do not meet user expectations.
